Kobe's game was amazing and still is. Remember waking up in the middle of the night to go to work and seeing it at the bottom of the screen of ESPN and just stared in shock for like 2 minutes. I was like know way maybe 61 but defintely not 81. That was the talk of the town at work that whole morning. But too say it's grreater than 100 is false. Most of u cat can't even score 100 points in ur backyard by urself with no one guarding you. Definitely gotta take in account some of those guys being racists trying to hurt Wilt and hack the hell out of him game after game. And wasn't the average center in those days like 6'9. I'm guessing the average center today is no more than 6'10 at the most. 100 points is 100 points in my eyes but that takes nothing away from Kobe's effort though. Probably will never be done again with all these cats teaming up and whatnot. We barely even see a couple of 50 point efforts a season now.

How is it 'greater' than Wilt's 100 game?
Cause it is. Wilt even wrote it himself on some Back to the Future type shyt.

Dudes always try to discredit this GOAT performance. "It was against the Raptors" :comeon: If it was that easy, why is it Wade or Lebron never had anything close to that performance when they played against Toronto more times than Kobe, being in the EC? :manny:

Never mind the fact that Kobe gave it to Dallas, Memphis, Golden State & Portland as well. We Equal Opportunity out here. Anybody can get it :steviej: :smugfavre:

fukk that, if it was that easy how come nobody dropped 110 against the bobcats last year?

ahh memories:ahh:
I remember coming from class and seeing that espn ticker (kobe with 60 points in the 3rd or something). I was mad as hell that espn didnt stop whatever show they was showing so we all could've witnessed that masterpiece live.

Cosign that wilt "100" point game. I was more impressed with the Admiral's 73 point game than wilt's

That game is insane in that it really looks like some random weak regular season game with Kobe getting his while Toronto runs away with the W and then Mamba starts slowly eating away at that lead and putting insane numbers, but while I was watching it (KNOWING he got 81) I was like no way he got 81, it just doens't make sense...plus the game was still close in the 3rd :leon:

And about that 100 point game, yeah 81 by a perimeter player in a competitive game is better than 100 by an oversized center with the team intentionnaly fouling to get the ball back IMO...plus there was the whole drama surrounding Kobe. Context does matter: despite scoring "just" 10 points less than Kobe, NO ONE talks about David Robinson dropping 71 against the Clippers in 94.

If being a few inches taller than the defense is an automatic 100pts, how come guys like Shawn Bradley, Yao Ming, Manute Bol, Mark Eaton, Rik Smits or Ralph Sampson never beasted like Wilt did? :stopitslime:

All of those guys were 7'4" to 7'7".

Stop minimizing Wilts accomplishments. Its not like he picked out who was gonna play defense on him.

When you take into account he had a modest 26 in the first half, and didn't start the 3rd on fire, the reality that he hit 81, even when re-watching the game doesn't come to friction until the second half of the 3rd quarter.
