I’m hoping Parasite wins best picture, but doesn’t seem likely.. Was my favourite film last year, Joker 2nd.

Just watched the trailer for Parasite as I hadn't even heard of it til now.

JoJo Rabbit is one of my fav. movies of 2019 but ScarJo performance was just ok. She's maybe the fifth or forth best performance in that movie.

I would've loved to have seen J'Lo and Beyonce's reaction to getting snubbed. It was probably 10x as worse as Spielberg's reaction to getting snubbed for Jaws (which was actually bullshyt.)

Much like the 'one black film to rule them all' the Academy probably didn't feel any desire to nominate another Asian heavy movie next to Parasite.

They're still the #Oscarssowhite after all. In fact, they probably used Parasite to excuse the need to forcibly nominate one black film as well.

Haven't seen Ford v Ferrari, but didn't Bale do better than Leo? Bale always goes all out. Leo was fine, but Pitt was way better.

I really want Pesci to beat Pitt though. Who yall think was better, Pacino or Pesci?

They are different roles to be sure. Pacino's was much more of a showy performance with some good dialogue while Pesci's was way more lowkey and sinister but still had some dope lines. I'd go for Pesci but slightly.

I preferred Pacino, but Pesci went heavy against type and still delivered a powerful performance even if understated.
