especially for the script. considering its basically all dialogue the whole movie the script really keeps you engaged the whole time, i loved listening to their conversation.

i think it deserved noms for script, actress and picture at least. maybe it was in an awkward place cause its an american film but mostly in a foreign language?

yeah Joaquin carried the movie. script was not good and directing was serviceable but not award-worthy

Yea I love the score and Joaquin probably should win the oscar....cause he carried the fukk out of that movie.

Phillips just aped Marty's style, but without any of the nuance.

My thoughts exactly. Joaquin was great in the film, but outside of the score, maybe cinematograph...nothing else was best picture of the year worthy.
