When I win I bring we with me
:jbhmm:
Randomly came across this opinion below in the YouTube comments and thought it was a funny/interesting take.
(Agree :hula: Disagree)

The AAE to white people slang pipeline:
  • Black people -> white homosexuals -> drunk white girls -> mainstream white vocabulary.

Or an increasingly common alternative:
  • Black twitter -> internet memes -> mainstream white vocabulary.

What would you add or change?

what i find interesting is how long it takes some of it to trickle down... like i was using simp for at least a decade before the twitch bro gamer cacs caught on lol.

I thought "simp" pipelined from AA through to that white youtube "PickUp Artist" space ...then out to larger white society.

OP..

Thing is..

Black people continue to use Black slang as well as AAVE in music, on social media and messageboards.

They know that non-Blacks frequent these online spaces, so why would any Black person be surprised that eventually Black vernacular will hit mainstream society?

If Black people feel that their vernacular is sacred, then Black people need to act like it is sacred & stop using it around others.
