Well im i guess old at 29 so i know ur not supposed to show where a producer got the sample from unless the producer does it himself. Just a unwritten hiphop rule.

as far as i'm concerned that shyt went out the window once all samples had to be cleared & 98% of the time they have to be printed in the booklet. personally i only want to hear it to see how it got flipped and sometimes it's cool just to hear the original anyway. if you purposely write down a bunch of samples that you KNEW were not known by the owners and that you KNEW the artist wanted to keep a secret that's a def no-no but if it's in the credits anyway whats the difference?

I am a producer also and frankly nobody does anything unless you have a hit or they happen to find out about it, it takes just as much effort to sue as anything.

there is a bunch of uncleared shyt being sold on itunes, but it doesnt matter, it has to be a hit.

people talk about "oh thats snitchin" this isnt 1995, every trainspotting, old school record geek is online now, very few samples go unnoticed, this guy isnt doing anything thats not already printed in the booklets as others have said.

also, young producers who dont understand flipping samples and digging learn alot from hearing how the experts do it. these days you cant just go into no i.d or kanyes studio to learn something and not very many producers are good enough to be teaching anyway. you have to learn somehow. im for it.

Domingo sort of said the same thing in an interview.

OK talking about this rapper sells this or got that one shot is something you probably shouldn't say out in the open in here...

But I doubt one of these artists is going to wake up, say "let me hit the Coli" and realize all along they've been ripped off by that damn Alchemist :rudy:

It's a new era, all these little unwritten customs pretty much fell by the wayside once the internet blew up. It's also an unwritten rule not to kiss another man, but alas look at a Hip Hop sales list right near the top...and tell me how that ones working out

If anything now that everyone and they mama calls themselves producers listening to how ill he flipped these will get a wack dude to shut his fruity loops down and go back to school and empty out the pool a little bit

Just appreciate it or keep it moving IMO, the guy obviously went through a lot of work to do this

I always hate it when I hear something that I've flipped or been thinking about flipping as for the snitch argument and it is snitching In the words Showbiz (paraphrased)

If people can ID the sample you used you didn't do a very good job.

You can't teach someone how to dig they have to discover what they like to dig for on their own, finding your own sounds, loops, drums, hi hats, snares is where the most fun is had.

Nor can you teach someone how to flip, you need to discover your own way of flipping shyt not copy the next guy, you can usually tell when a guy has been listening to another producer too hard.

This shyt takes hours and dedication no amount of words can ever convey what you need to do, self discovery is where the magic starts.

I remember Premier being pissed that dudes were putting out sample sets.

Do you understand the work being put in so you can nod your head for 3 minutes and some change?

Props to the TS though you put in some work to find these, I wonder if I have some of the records in the set you dropped?

You must know that ALC digs fukkin' deep. I've found like a bunch of his samples and for some I was the first to do it. You must understand that when you find a fukkin sample which was hidden for years in a fukkin' obscure record that you doubt someone will ever listen (just like these records he used for Russian Roulette) you HAVE to share it. Alc ain't mad at us when we find these samples cause he accepts how the game is. He knows he's samplin' records with like 200 prints all around the world that no one can find unless some die hard fans will dig into progressive rock maniacs's channels on youtube ahah (what i did) so he really doesn't give a fukk. I even remember on twitter when the Calmly Smoke sample was found I id'd him on a post and he was like: "oooh man was is it i totally forgot, no seriously!" and answered "oh great shyt"!
I appreciate this type of producer ! I won't call names in the rap game but i think some producers should do the same or dig deeper to not get sued lololol
