her life is together because she had a kid and is now taking care of it instead of hanging out with her loser friends from before though. it has nothing to do with some higher power. :yeshrug:

i personally believe if you think you're not doing it under your own will power then you're far more open to relapse. god will always forgive her after all and she has admitted she has no power over her addictions. :francis:
Lol that's what happend to Randy on south park. That what made me make the thread. At the end he learned it's better to learn balance through your own strength and discipline rather than abstaining completely because avoiding something you enjoy doing still controls your life it's just inverted.

AA is part of a Protestant Christian counseling service group. Along with Drug Addict Anonymous.
It also has an astronomically high failure rate, which is rarely talked about.

I've been to AA and it does feel cultish.

But one speaker said something that stuck with me.

"Your higher power could be a fukking toaster. You don't have to believe in a god. Whatever gives you the strength to not drink that day."

I never forgot that as an atheist.

Also, the coffee sucks.
