Well the op is right. Having kids while young is detrimental to your financial health. The man that waits till he has a college degree and making decent money will be way better off. The child who's born into a good career family is way better off. Nobody is saying you have to be rich, because you don't. But an educated couple can provide leaps and bounds more for the children than a couple working a warehouse job or McDonald's.
