He puts together teams that are designed to fail in a specific way and the team fails in that specific way...every...fukking...time...

He somehow is considered a great GM and a great analytics guy without ever winning anything...

This dude really said the way they hoped to beat golden state was to shoot a shyt ton of threes and leave it up to "variance"...

Everyone knows you need at least an average defense to win a title and what does this idiot do...go hire a coach who once copped an attitude when asked about his defense and actually said "we spent 30 minutes on defense in practice today"

I guess his "variance" didn't account for Ryan Anderson shooting 12% on 3's at home huh

Dude built a team that can only play one way when historically the nba playoffs has been about making adjustments...

How about NOT build a basketball team that you can shut down by just having your defense stand next to their shooter and then let your already turnover prone star get tired from being a one man show and force bad passes to them?

How about NOT clearly being a bad defensive team and you go get a coach who has spent his entire NBA career flaming out in the playoffs?

How about NOT trading first round picks for Lou Williams who's game ALWAYS falls off a cliff in the playoffs?

How about NOT specifically building a team that won't take long 2 pointers when in the playoffs teams are going to tighten up defense on the 3 point line and the paint is going to get physical to the point that dudes are pretty much wrestling...

This team would have lost to Memphis the exact same way had they beaten the spurs in the 1st round...

I feel you, but even if they did those things, they're still be in the same spot(great regular season treadmill squad). It's really hard to win when you don't have two stars, it's possible('04 Pistons, '14 Spurs), but those are outliers and had unbelievable defense/depth.

No they wouldn't be in the same spot...cause his team would be more flexible and he could make some changes that matter...as it stands now with this team it is all or nothing...if he wants to get better defensively he got to trade a spot up shooter...you trade ryan anderson for a defensive player then who is standing where ryan anderson is standing for open 3's? Not Clint...Not Nene...Not Harrell...you trade Gordon for a defensive player same thing...who is standing in that spot...

It's not about winning...it's about constructing teams that you can't just dumb down to almost nothing in the playoffs and that is what Morey does...he builds these teams where once you figure them out it is over there is no adjustment for them to make...

Pop just decided he was going to stay at home on shooters and let Harden run wild...not exactly a revolutionary defensive strategy...but with the way the rockets went from scoring 120 something in game 1 to not even being able to score 80 in game 6 you would have thought pop just invented "defense" out of thin air...

When Danny Green and Patty MIlls start sliding into passing lanes so fast you literally pass the ball to them...something is wrong with your offense...

When Jonathan Simmons has a play where he effectively guarded 3 players cause all of them were just standing at the 3 point line waiting for a shot...something is wrong with your offense

When a dude is shooting 12% from 3 but then TAKES 4 MORE 3's...something is wrong with your offense...
