until smartwatches can offer some kind of functionality worth the price point they will continue to be niche products for tech enthusiasts only

that car opening idea yall were talkin about sounds like it could revolutionize em tho :ehh:

I picked one up and its dope to me:yeshrug:
For me: the advantage comes from the ability to check notifications, send quick text replies, control my music all from the wrist w/o having to pull out my phone. For instance, if I'm in a meeting or somewhere that its inappropriate to pull out my phone I can get the messages from the flicka the wrist. Apple def has work to do in order to make it more appealing to consumers but I justified spending $400 on it because I wanted a fitness tracker that measures heart rate. The fitbit HR is $250, might as well pay the extra 150 for a superior product in Apple Watch:smugbiden:. Yes, Im an apple fanboy, I own a macbook pro, ipad, apple tv and iphone:manny:

Edit:
Getting directions while walking/driving without having to pull out your phone >>>

Have we, as Americans really gotten to this point? I say naaaah. You just got it because, like you said, you're a fanboy.

I swear, if people really start saying, "I dont even need to pull out my phone." as an excuse to buy this...

Exactly.. You get a notification on your watch that you gotta pull out your phone to respond to. So we got mofos dropping $600 on a notification system for you phone... It's like dropping $20k on an alarm system for a car you just bought for $18k that already includes an anti-theft package.

This has nothing to do with apple or anything, the fact is..no one gives a fukk about smart watches, I already have a phone, I don't need to buy a 500 watch with less features
this, plus, if you want to drop serious money and buy a watch for status, you buy a luxury automatic watch which is going to maintain or even increase it's value, instead of an overrated digital watch which you can throw into the trash in two years because it will be outdated and have a broken battery.

It is what it is...there's times where I'm not gonna respond unless its an situation emergency. I prefer not to pull out my phone when I'm in a meeting or dinner. If you're a broke boy then say u a broke boy, I spent the $450 because I felt it was worth it. Is your beef with the price point or reasons that people buy em?

It's not the money aspect of it breh.

:snoop:

It's the fact that it's just not really needed in life. Period.

Exactly. If you want to drop money on a watch, drop real money on a real watch. Great post.

As one of the brehs were saying earlier in this thread, its not a 1 for all solution. If you dont work out and want to track Heart Rate/Calories/Steps metrics, dont have work meetings where its frowned upon to pull out a cell phone or even own other Apple products then its probably not for u...no need to hate:manny:
