I'm finding my need for a laptop diminishing as cellphones get bigger and tablets get more powerful...meanwhile my 27 inch Apple cinema display is like a 3rd TV in my house. If you do a lot of typing on the road I'd say go Macbook...otherwise, you might want to leave the mobile computing to your smartphone/tablet and have a nice desktop at home.

Anybody own a soundbar? I'm trying to set up some semblance of surround sound but don't want speakers and cables all over the place.

These new SONOS speakers are peaking my interest.

I brought a Sony one 4 years ago, and I love it. It's one long speaker and a tower. I use this hdmi feature alot and play music from laptop to the soundbar
