I learned about that bomb from this thread. I remember thinking "we'll probably never see the real pictures of that bomb test" and then out of nowhere I see this. I wonder if Russia dropping this a flex to remind people of what they can do, or just 2020 being 2020.

Prolly a mix of both. Who knows what they got cookin now. The Tsar Bomba turns 60 next year. Im sure theyve advanced far beyond its capabilities

Then you got this fool Trump just casually bragging that the US has a new nuclear weapon that even China and Russia don't have, thereby potentially setting off a new nuclear arms race in 2020

A fun fact that I learned the other day: the only reason Russia obtained their nuclear capabilities when they did was because of Russian spies in America.

The US knew they would get the technology and thought they would have it within 8 or 9 years if im not mistaken but Russia was able to have it within 5 or 6 years due to espionage.

Another thing I didn't know was that Russia helped China out at the beginning of their nuclear weapons project and then backed out cause of reasons. China wound up being able to finish on their own a few years later though.

Honestly, yes we really didn’t have to use atomic bombs on them but they also shouldn’t have bombed Pearl Harbor. it is what it is
