It's a great concept song with great lyrics but, like half the songs on Relapse, suffered from having an unbearable accent that threw everything off.

People never like anything different once that person fits a box they put them in
Unless you start out doing weird shyt like that from the get, itll never take. If outkast or doom made this song people would have accepted it. They dont accept that type of stuff from rappers lile nas or wu or similar attributed rapper for whatever reason.
Im not particularly fond of it but i appreciate the creativity and think it was crucial for the album to show off the art of hip hop.

The song was corny sure, but I miss weird Nas. Most of his albums before the Hit Boy run had some concepts and weirdness that highlighted his skills as a writer. I kinda miss him trying to do weird shyt on his albums, it kept things interesting
