Making 60k self employed is equivalent to making 120k w2 income after all ur breaks and shyt...

Wife literally shows ZERO income after just basic LEGAL above board deductions and writing off expenses.
Unless your wife gets like a $20k return, your math is a bit off. Businesses pay their own taxes. Income tax. Employment taxes if you have employees. Etc.

I'd take 60k working for myself over 120k working for someone else

I'd say that as well..depends on the work though..but being your own boss is better.

I'd take $60KUS working for myself than working for someone else even though that would be a big paycut. I also think about the opportunities to write shyt off.

@Jekyll we have written off 60k worth of expenses/operating costs so she essentially doesn't owe any taxes as there is no income after expenses. Also llcs are pass thru so there is no separate corporate tax or anything breh.

This is pretty simple stuff.

I made a minor adjustment. 60k with a biz is equivalent to 100k going by taxes for a single male in Maryland.

I definitely see both sides to the argument.

I will say that it's much easier to push a benz when you can write it off.

Give me the $120k. I'd save $3,000/month. After 2 years I'd buy a 5 unit apartment and rent each unit for $1200.

So now I got $6k/month in disposable income.

Bro, I know what a $120k paycheck looks like and I was pulling that in the late 2000s. You're not going to stack multiple rental units in 2 years with that income.

You're better off investing in stocks with whatever you can to raise capital.
