Have you shopped at whole foods before? And athletes burn more calories than the average person so it is believable that they spend a lot on groceries
Yes I have.
$200 a day tho.
A DAY??

It's not like they sell $20 oatmeal and shyt.
How sophisticated do these athletes eat?

You gonna tell me they in Louisville eating Doritos and Gatorade and as soon as they get drafted it's quinoa salads and organic beet juice?

Even Michael Phelps couldn't spend $200 every day on food.

@Raul I think you might be surprised at what an athlete could put away food wise in terms of volume and price

I remember reading how much food Phelps ate and was amazed that he still seemed so slender

Phelps ate a lot of calories at the height of his training. Not quite the same as money.

But even at 5 meals a day, you're talking $40 per meal, per day.

We're not talking about eating out. This is $40 per meal per day from shopping at Whole Foods.

Others have corrected me saying it's likely total spending including family and entourage. I mean it has to be.

That doesn't make it much better tho.
Still wild spending.

Fair point

And certainly if they prepare the food themselves or have a personal cook it should work out to less than that

73,000 on Whole Foods?

Is that per year?

:what:

That's 6,000 a month.
$200 a day!

How many organic apples can you eat???

That gotta include family spending. I mean there's just no way.
The charts were shown with so little context that it made no sense to use them in the article.

It seems to be saying they tracked 4 months of activity for 50 participating players. 72000/50 = 1400 per player / 4 months = 350 per month per player. A little more realistic sounding for whole foods but that express figure is still

These spending helpers are typically garbage in, garbage out because they require a lot of effort by the spender. If you pay with an assortment of cards, expenses will get missed and if you don't reclassify expenses, the program is going to have a lot of them in the wrong expense category.
