My family is from the south and I was raised in the bay. They're very similar because black people migrated from the south to the bay to work in the ports of Oakland and Richmond. My mom told me about it. A lot of people in the south have family in the bay and vice versa. Black people get little credit for migrating all over the country and enriching culture everywhere we go. Shout out to the east coast, ya'll created hip hop. You win.

Hella is said in nor cal. Hekka is what they say in so cal. Nor cal and so cal are surprisingly very different. Some people use both. I'm not sure if you've noticed this. The nautical star nor cal sweater though! The white boys loved rocking that. I was on LRG and Levis tough in HS. I hate nautical star and anchor tattoos.
