i really liked the love me beat but shyt being able to paste his verse from there to here...on another em beat...lol I wonder if it could work with other em productions
are his beats so cut and paste that he could paste any of his verses on there...

I just misinterpreted what you said, apologies.
I still stand by It was written being Nas most disingenous body of work. Too far deviated from his preceding album and too much a&r/Stoute influence.

No problem, and I agree with that even though i love the album. He was clearly just pivoting to MobTales from a detached perspective

There's obviously some standout tracks, but it's such a juxtaposition from his previous effort, primarily from an a&r perspecitve (as i said.)
Artists need to grow and offer new sounds every release, I get completely subscribe to that, and it's tired and simplistic to run the 'it's not as good as their first one' old rhetoric.
That being said, It Was Written was just too obviously conscious of radio and crossover appeal. It didn't fit with the pre existing brand/image that was established already.
But then again i'm not a major record label, and major record labels are there to make money first and foremost.

That might be the main issue with Eminem's production. For the most part, it sounds like something he would rap over himself and you could put his verses on different beats without it sounding weird. His early production, anyway. The beats he makes now sound a lot noisier and they do have more musicality to them, but you can't just give them to anyone.
That's also why he tends to change the beat around when he's the feature, like on "Bang" or "EPMD 2." He wants to give the production more space so you focus more on him, but it just makes the beat worse.

Because with the strings added the track and lyrics almost has to have that "epic" feel.

I heard Nas was heated at this album.
I can't listen to it and never heard it in full because it seems fuxked up to take a man WHOLE album and replace all his beats because you think the original was trash ..then God's step son was well reviewed
