I think what happened was, they printed up so many of those books they couldnt keep quality control..

Somewhere along the line a printer switched the spelling. They said fukk it and sold them anyways..

It lead to a lot of confusion...

I wish I still had my copies of these books, used to read the shyt out of them in elementary school. I do vaguely remember pronouncing the series BerenSTAIN and then later pronouncing it BerenSTEIN because my peers thought I was pronouncing it incorrectly. That confused me then and it confuses me know because it was so long ago that I don't know if this actually happened or not, but I'm pretty sure it did. I was 5 or 6 at the time, your memory of anything at that age is fuzzy at best and is probably the main reason this has been discussed You won't see a grown man read these books in public

Berenstain is one of the most well known. I know for a fact it used to be berenstein...my teacher used to always pronounce it BerenSTEEN. And read every one of those books and it was always berenstein
