No rock albums? All urban with a few scattered pop acts? I personally liked The Killers in the 2000's but to have not 1 Maroon 5 album listed just doesn't sound right. Maroon 5 were staples in the 21st century. Everyone knows 1 or 2 songs by them even if you didn't know it was from them.

:dahell:

Its Complex lol They cover hip hop, pop & sneakers

You might want to check Rolling Stone or Stereogum or something for a rock and roll list

The list is called "Best Albums Of The 21st Century" not "Best Hip Hop albums of the 21st century."

And If it's mainstream, it's pop. Pop Rock that is super mainstream falls in the category of pop.

Maroon 5 is pop rock and they are more pop than rock. Adam Levine is on the first song on Kanye's Late Registration.

ColdPlay & Linkin Park were making noise heavy in the 2000's. Linkin Park did a whole album with Jay Z. Linkin Park have 3 albums that sold over 20 million worldwide. That's nothing to breeze over.

How the fukk does that list have Billie Eilish but no Avril Lavinge? Avril Lavinge was major in the 2000's.

The fact that there are no pop rock acts on that list stands out.

Criminally low

Get Rich is such a weird album to me

I was there for the impact and I like the album

But musically it's the most overrated album of all time to me
Ran this joint back for the first time in years last week, and it just doesn't hit like it did when it first dropped to me. It's not terrible, but it's all over the place with shyt sequencing.

Respectfully if they were gonna put a rock album in there are multiple albums by Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, My Bloody Valentine, The Strokes, My Chemical Romance, The White Stripes and many more that are vastly superior and more acclaimed than anything Maroon 5 has ever put out.

Yes, all of the bands you just mentioned coulda got a nod. I only mentioned Maroon 5 because of the Hip Hop relationships with Adam doing songs with 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Megan Thee Stallion and Kanye being that Complex leans towards the urban demographic. Like I said, The Killers were my go to in the 2000's ( I was also into Atreyu and Lamb Of God among others that were not so mainstream)

Let me add that Yeezus being on that list confirms that they don't care about superior quality albums so me stressing Maroon 5 is fair game.

Complex was established in 2002[21] by the founder of the Eckō Unltd. brand, Marc Eckō, as a print magazine aimed at providing young men a report of the latest in hip hop, fashion and pop culture

No posts about rock music in the past week, at least.:yeshrug: I get your point, but like I said, you're better off elsewhere looking for rock representation in lists like these.
