I have to read. It's my favorite form of escapism, more so than smoking and drinking.

Read books that are enriching and touch your soul. Countless exist and they will change your world. Reading is that powerful.

Some of my favorites include:

Dead souls by Nikolai Gogol
The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Negroes With Guns by Robert F. Williams
A Scanner Darkly by Phillip K. dikk
Darkness At Noon by Arthur Koestler
V For Vendetta by Allan Moore

I love so many more but this is what I can see from my bookshelf

Fantasy.
I actually love collecting books, paperbacks FTW :blessed: although they are expensive, my collection is coming along nicely :smugfavre:
Thrift stores are the best places to get cheap books and you'll find genres of books you've never heard of. I have read the most peculiar books bought from there. I had a book collection that i started in elementary and it got bigger the older i got. Man i had more than thousands of books. Then like that our house caught on fire and i lost every single one of my books:noah: I mourned the lost of them more than my computer more than my television, more than my clothes or shoes. I cried like a little baby man. It was horrible. It was like i lost my best friends. The keepers if my innermost thoughts and secrets. Smh, now i have a cute little 3 shelf bookshelf. I bought an ipad and keep my books on there as well as my google drive. I rarely buy paper books anymore. Lost all my short stories and poems too. Im never inspired to write anymore. This was over 15 years worth of books. I still can't believe i lost them. I feel like crying just thinking about it.

There's a spot near me that sells used books for like 50 cents a pop. I haven't been there in years. Now that I have time I should check it out.

That sucks about your house catching fire. When it comes to materialism, and even a sentimental standpoint, that's one of the worst things to feel. :mjcry:

I've joined a bookclub, so i buy most of my books online, and said books are delivered to my house, im not into technology so , i have never gotten the hang of e-books and kindle and whatever. i've also started reading and collecting books when i was small, i still have most of my books that i won at school for being the top achiever :hamster: i remember the first time i entered the library i was so happy, i wish i could spend all my time there, and when i took books out, i read them as quicly as possible so i could go back the next day for new books :pachaha:

Ah, such a sad thing to happen man, but at least you made lemonade with those lemons :salute:

when i grow up i want an entire library in my house :noah:
I've started to write my own book, but im currently experiencing writers block :lupe: its extremely difficult to write your own stuff, thats why i cherish all the literature i've acquired
