Whitney and Gaye came to mind first. Always dug lead signers from Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey as well. But I listen to R and B/Pop for beats and flow, not voices.
I think Mary J is like a honorable mention just for going so far, when they said she could only do one style or really couldn't sign well. Like most improved.



Adam Lambert from American Idol is pretty good for that type of music.




Bruno Mars is the best of this era.
