I've seen this place mentioned various places over the past year but more than the fact that they are in Staten Island, they are open only 3 nights a week ... 15 hours total every week?

That's cool that they cosigned, but it doesn't change the fact that most ppl who live in NYC don't go to SI like that. If you drive, you have to pay a toll. If you use mass transit, the subways don't go there, you have to take the ferry, then figure out the bus.
Celebrities and journalists going on adventures is different from people having to make time to go way out of their way to go to SI.
The food looks amazing but I'm not making a trek to Staten Island. Never been there in my life and never will.
Anyone saying Amy Ruth's is good probably never went there when they could only seat about 10 people. Every time I went there the owner was in the kitchen preparing the food and it was 10/10. Once he sold and they expanded to seat 100 the quality fell off.

How y'all feel about Jacobs? I've eaten there my last couple of times in the city. I know their more of a mix between Soul Food and Caribbean Food, but still good imo.
I didn’t even know Sylvia’s was still open until I went to 125th last month. I want to know who the fųck is eating there when you can pull up to Melba’s or Amy Ruth (with their iffy service) or something else in the area

Jacobs as a buffet is on point. The spot back in the day for that Caribbean food in the 90's/early 2000's Harlem was Mr B's. It wasn't on the surface like regular restaurants, you had to go downstairs from the streets to enter it and you sat down to eat.
Copelands was another Soul Food banger in Harlem 90's and 2000's. Copelands was Sylvia's/Amy Ruth level back in the day.
