Quik is the rap Teddy Riley…

You can tell that he puts his heart into those beats for a purpose.

Even when Quik speaks about pu$$, the beats be sounding so smooth

Quik ia talented as hell, very gifted producer

But he’s not Teddy Riley in the sense that he didn’t create a sub genre of music like Teddy did with New Jack Swing

No limit waa dead..Cash money blew up in 98 and Mase was everywhere.

No Limit was dead in 2000 if u wanna really think about it…

1999 was the beginning of the end. They didn’t really recover due to that.

Cash Money blew up in late 98-early 99.

It took a slow burn:

Everyone started to go back and check the other stuff out.

Cash Money would have died in 2002 but luckily for us, Birdman had his star player on the bench.

It took a few years to adjust but Wayne saved Cash Money from ending up like No Limit.

What helped Cash Money was them reaching out to other producers rather than just letting it die off.

P had Neptunes as well.

Why didn’t he utilize em more???

Pharrell could have been saved the label.

Carlos Stephen and Kenoe did what they could

Imagine P rapping over a beat like Knock Yourself Out

I know that…

I’m saying that anyone can glide over some DJ Quik.

Buck Bounce is one of my fav Quik songs that he produced for a outside
