I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

Boyce and Angela were on the program at the same event this past weekend. Does that mean they are heavily associated with each other?

I was responding to the other poster about their comment directed towards me. I suspected it if being an attempted insult.

This behavior is nothing new.

Just a new and improved version of the same old hustle.

Whats wrong with paying for a lecture.

Why would demonize good information by calling it a hustle?

Above the fray.
summed up already, but these lines they gave LL in the film "In Too Deep" really speak to the heart of the issue.

Call it a "follower's gene" or whatever, but there are always going to be people who take advantage of people who want/need to feel like they are part of something.

I used to blame the ones doing the exploiting, but I stopped that a while back. If a person is going to follow somebody else's direction to the point where they even start parroting that person's catchphrases....I say no harm no foul. Whether it's a religious figure, politician, internet celeb, scholar, street dude.....whoever...some people are always gonna follow them, can't knock the person for taking advantage of this fact.

They build windmills to harness the power of the wind.....people create platforms to harness the power of followers.

But what a lot of people fail to realize, is that all that knowledge they have and are proud that they didn't get it from some Black hotep man, they got from somewhere else. Everybody's viewpoints are shaped by someone else telling you about that viewpoint. People buy Nikes because someone told them that wearing Nikes made you look cool, Now Adidas is the shoe of the moment. Donald Trump might be the first autistic president in the history of the United States, yet he's influencing people way more qualified than him. I kinda scoff at people who act like their views and opinions are organic or self generated, when in reality, they are not. Marketing and Advertising will always flourish, because all opinions and views, good or bad, need promotion.

This is all true. I made the point that regardless of whether that leader/is from a religious, political, academic, social media, or street background that it's the same thing.

Person who follows anybody to the point where THAT person's phrases, catchphrases and views start coming out of their mouths is beyond the stage of just merely being influenced though. That's a parrot.

White people who do lectures are "professional public speakers".

Black people who do lectures are "hustlers and con artists".

I disagree. Tony Robbins and the "motivational speaker / life coach" genre of speakers are called con men and hustlers. The top white ones operate on a level way above anything we've seen.
