The "man" put a hiccup in the order of things. Take a people and strip them of their native culture is a big deal cuz.. We seriously have to work together to overcome this.. No other way.
the war at home been going on since before genesis

i say all the responsibility is our own

the only road to better starts with self responsibility

that's just the way i see it though

No doubt..

I donate money to a felon who work with the kids. He cant get money from grants, so if the people won't do it, it won't get done. This shyt easy if we work together. You cry if you can see..

life is a collaborative act

approach it like it's a solo & lose

all wins credited to the team

Modern day? Couldn't tell you, but historically? First thing that popped up in my head were the trickster deities/characters slaves used to tell stories about, I remember hearing them first on Reading Rainbow as a jit :wow:

After the passage of time though, some of the stories have negative connotations but that's another thread:

Br'er Rabbit (Southern US & Caribbean): Apparently comes from Sene-Gambian folk traditions, but the hare/rabbit trickster is a pretty widespread folk device all over Black Africa

Anansi/Aunt Nancy (Caribbean):

The OG West African trickster god is Eshu; over time he became the abstract concept of the crossroads in the deep south

Legba is also at the Crossroads too...hence his Veve

I admit that this one was kinda assigned to us, but was the "Mandingo" warrior that folk character for the last century?

Although he isn't a class of warrior and more of an individual, I think John Henry is up there as well

We also have all black military regiments such as the Tuskegee airmen. Or that one dude nick named "the black death"
:russ: no, Mandigo is an ethnic group. Mandigo warrior is more of an American term to mean anything it seems like. As an African they had an empire, but there's no folk character. Folk character in West Africa is Anansi or Spider ie Spiderman I guess.
