This is honestly a case of stereotypes and deep feelings about a group of ppl coming out. This situation has brought it out. It’s sad, but atleast it brings some awareness and let’s you know how ppl really feel.

Young brehs and brehettes down here aren’t being “peer pressured” like that. This post is nothing but the OP, emotionally, making it known how he feels about southern folk and a post to attack religion. Religion that really has nothing to do with why older southerners didn’t vote for Bernie.

Black people aren't a monolith despite what the polls say; younger black folk seem to be more left leaning than older black folk ( who are still mostly center-left and more progressive than any other group in America ) and seem less interested in upholding the status quo (even the one's who aren't classically progressive and are more center leaning seem less interested in upholding the status quo). The problem is though is that younger generations didn't come out and vote and make their voices heard, so now we have the old heads dictating shyt for us again. It shouldn't be a surprise though, time and time again older voters show to be a more reliable voting bloc, and I think most of us knew our parents and shyt were gonna move lock step with Biden for various reasons. Regardless though, it's getting kind of embarrassing to see so many of us suck the dikk of candidates who are barely gonna do shyt for us, I mean got damn have some pride. I know that voting Dem is the pragmatic approach because death from the left is slower than death from the right, but I'm not gonna be enthusiastic about putting a person who barely acknowledges my existence in office.

Overall everybody's wealth went down due to the great recession. That was because of the housing market crash, not Obama.

People really miss this. How do you expect any president to fix the economy within 4 years after election? It's a process. Right now America is riding a booming economy with increasing of employment. However, it is going to go downhill because of Trump's "trade war" and the Coronavirus .

Super tuesday taught me 2 things total but 1 specific thing about Black Voters:

1. The average voter is emotionally driven, Black folks especially.....and that makes us suckers for empty gestures.

i legit heard people slamming Bernie for not appearing in Selma, as if thats the end all be all. Or slam him for not having an explicit reparations stance (which is never happening and even IF it did, does very little to correct the economic balance/influence in this country) while in reality he does have an explicit plan to uplift the working poor of this country, of which Black folks are overwhelmingly apart of. Biden himself is one big empty gesture. A career centrist who had the luck of standing next to the First Black President (who while seemingly a good man, was also, an empty gesture). And that proximity to Barack is carrying him.

It's funny, people slammed Hilary for dancing and bringing hot sauce, yet the analysts will point out that Bidens ability to resonate with Black folks (especially Clyburn) turned the tide.

When the average black voters puts so much emphasis on "how you appear to Black folks", dont be surprised when politician cacs are completely off base while pandering in a attempt to put a finger on the pulse of Black culture.

2. No shade thrown to @Ghost Utmost but this post right here reframes what this election has always been about to the average Dem...Getting Trump out. Nothing more or less. It all goes back to him.

Online echo chambers would have you believe (and im guilty of this) that 2016 was a referendum on centrism...that people were ready to finally try and reposition this country more to the left. And that simply isnt the truth. People arent ready. Socialism is still a scary word to them. The Centrist Dems are still the "good guys" to most Dem Voters.

IF Biden wins in November, he and the DNC will have a decade plus off goodwill from voters for "ridding us of Trump"....and they will probably use that decade to continue sucking the cock of corporations/billionaires, fukking over the average person and every now and then throw us a bone (probably via some soft shoe immigration reform).

And part of me thinks...thats been the plan the entire time.

The Democratic party is not comprised of some "others" who dictate to us.

Any one of us could run for a local office. There are already some actual Black people in office that care about our folks. There are non evil people of every race already in plenty of offices.

The Republicans are the "others" that would shyt on every Black person at once if they could.

A decade of liberals in power puts us that much closer to getting ours. Cause all of us can use that decade to do the work.

A decade of Republicans will be the opposite
