Harden can get buckets but him being the best scorer in the league or even close is a myth. He's in the second tier with Jimmy and Kawhi. He does inflate it with his foul calls which is a good thing usually until he absolutely needs a bucket which in that scenario it just isn't reliable enough. On the other hand he's probably a top 3 play maker in the league and still isn't respected as such even after leading the league in assists.

If anything he's getting off pretty light for a disappearance of that magnitude.
