Average, and it bears out when people actually list the songs they like or dislike it usually comes out that 10/15 tracks are average, good or very good (Thank You), or even 11/15 if you're one of those Forever Young lovers which a lot of people I know are for some reason (I think it's sort of cheesy), but I'd say it's actually better than Kingdom Come.

I do like Haters though :yeshrug: I find the song funny and I think that's what it's intended to be. Kanye running around screaming , "puh puh puh." :russ:

The thing is there's nothing truly special about this album. Like even though I like Thank You, it doesn't give you the feeling a song like Never Change does. There are just some songs where you're like...well, he didn't do anything wrong on it. Reminder bottom 5 hooks all time though. He should've kept that one to himself.

The worst part? Billboard rated this shyt album of the year in 2009, he's probably going to do it again :snoop:

BP3 was Jay's absolute worst album to me.

shyt was :snoop::trash:

Wack ass emo techno sounding beats. Uninspired lyrics and flow. Multiple directions on the album. I always give the :rudy: face when any nikka tries to defend that album. If you would of told me back in 97-2000 that Hov would make some shyt like BP3 I would have told you to fukk off and :heh:

Before this album, Jay's weakest one was Kingdom Come. That album to me was average as fukk but it at least had a few bangers and overall better beats.

It was pretty bad. I'll even say that if it wasn't for Watch the Throne after Jay's stock would have fell tremendously.

Good album, glossy, commercial, like a stripped down, 'Vol. 2', I fukked with it more then a lot of his later work, very good production.

A lil over 3 yrs ago, when I was working at Wal Mart in Normal, Illinois(store #1125 ), unloading the trucks at the tender age of 30, I remember coming home on my lunch break and going into the computer room and nikkaz str8 hatin' on Jay's performance on Run This Town when the song leaked. You nikkaz look like dumb failures now :ufdup:

As a Jay stan I look at the album as being completely and utterly trash in every way, shape, and form from a critical view. There is nothing about this album that makes me really want to revisit it and I still maintain that it was absolutely unnecessary. That said, it spawned one of his most popular singles that could very well outlast some of his other hits which is a huge deal this far into his career.

I thought this album was misguided and what happens when you aren't in the right creative space to make the album. When you look at AG and WTT this album sticks out for being so weak to be inbetween those two. One of his worst albums to me.

Like I said though, there is at least some positives to take from this. A Star Is Born definitely opened up the world to J.Cole. It was the album that broke Elvis Presley's record. All of the singles were successful and may very well be remembered down the line more this his other. I already feel like they hit with the non-hip hop crowd like 99 problems did. All of em. It went plat and it didn't flop. Maybe the most important part, he got whatever inspired him to make this out of his system :yeshrug:

A solid album. Damm sure aint his worse, not close to being his best. Easily better than BP2, Dynasty, and KC.
