Only weak tracks on Blueprint is Jigga That nikka and Hola Hovito

Stillmatic had trash like Smokin, Braveheart Party, My Country, Rule and the beat to Destroy and Rebuild is garbage

Why you think breh? Coz they know their artist of choice is inferior to real trailblazers and region definers in hip-hop like HOV and Cube were for the East/West respectively.

Hov's whole style switched as soon as heard Illmatic by his own admission. :pachaha:

You got some catch up to do still :skip:

Its weird outside of thecoli no one shares this opinion.

Not a publication. No one I know personally either

In most circles it's an insult to compare the Stillmatic to the blueprint.

Two different levels entirely.

The Source gave it 5 mics and I've seen other forums where people rate Stillmatic

Dude's a popular longstanding artist and the Jay vs Nas back and forth goes on all the time form barbershops to twitter and have people arguing forever. Not just in terms of who won but albums and overall artistry. Its not some new thing.

Its not an exclusive Coli thing. If you have to say it to reassure yourself your opinion on the matter is right and you cant comprehend why people

But there's nothing wrong people saying Nas is better than Jay and Stillmatic is better than Blueprint or vice versa. Its been debated for years

Its not like dudes are comparing Juelz to Pun album or some shyt

Still trying to think of a album with as many wack joints thats considered a classic.

People that love stillmatic, explain what makes these songs not wack, explain what makes them good?

Theres songs on classic that may not measure up to the rest of the album, but have a different intention and are good for what they are...even U Owe Me had redeeming quality and was good for what it was?but braveheart party?smokin:mjlol:?then u have a record like the Flyest that isnt good for what its supposed to be.

Nope, he says Illmatic was a game changer but never says he switched styles because of it, Biggs is the person who told Jay to slow down.
It's only a narrative because of Ether and it can be repeated easily, because slowing down your flow but still having a markedly different style than someone is not someone giving you a style to run with and it's insane that people try to say it is, Jay's style is much closer to Big L's than it is to Nas's.

I don't like the beat on My Country but I love all those other songs. Even Braveheart Party. I'm surprised you didn't like that one :lolbron:
Sung hook
Song isn't serious.
It's about :shaq:
I can understand people having an issue with Rule given the sample, but he absolutely destroyed that beat and it's another sung hook for you :lolbron:
Plus that beat is fun :lolbron:
I like the beat on Destroy and Rebuild :yeshrug:
Smoking too :yeshrug:
You didn't like the Flyest? :hhh:

At the end of the day, Blueprint has the better production, Stillmatic has the better rhymes and the higher highs.

Why do you think Biggs told him to slow down?

When they did the round of interviews after I Declare War he talked about its influence
Other people have said this as well. I dont see any correlation to L with Hov's style given L was big on punchlines and if anything Jay was on entendres
