The Boom 107.9 Has Hit Philly/Jersey. Whats The Verdict?

I live in the Philly area and have not heard of this station. I stopped listening to the radio 5 years ago, because I got sick of stations like Power 99fm playing the same 10 songs,10xs a day. I will definitely check it out Boom today.

you were listening to the wrong stations breh.

100.3 & WDAS 105.3 had the city on smash for the past 5 years. longer than that actually.

power 99 is for the kiddies.

I have always loved WDAS, it's the only station I listen too regularly, I meant the actual radio, lol. I still listen to WDAS on the iHeartRadio app.

I just heard about 100.3 changing a few months ago. I wasn't a fan of it when it was rap/r&b. Its current format is pretty good.

I'm 24, so by the time I turned 18 I already grew tired of Power 99fm. Besides the Cosmic Kev show, I used to regualry tune in for that, but haven't listened to his show since 2011 probably.

Maybe it was me getting older, but it seemed like Power 99 was better in the 90s and early 00's.

well yea, most people grow away from current mainstream radio as they become more & more serious about their music. theyre just geared to program the taste of casual listeners. unless some weird overhaul occurs, youre never gonna listen to any of those type stations regularly again.

100.3 didnt change formats. it just swapped its station number. its been on for at least a good 7 years.

cosmic kev in 2011? kev fell off like a decade ago. bat cave was better.

all the stations arent the same.

this is noticeably better than the houston station breh. they dont dig that deep in the crates either, but its not as basic as houston.

houston even plays the hook from that black eyed peas "boom" song after every commercial break. THATS A NO-NO in a market like philly.

prolly cuz the station was just starting out.

if theyre still playing it, then theres no hope for em.

that fact that they took the hook from a black eyed peas pop record is the biggest L. no way they would do that up here.

Not bad basically sounds like radio did in the 90's
