Well sure that's a solution but should it really have to be that way? These policies basically assume EVERY interaction between co-workers is abusive or problematic, not because they actually are but because they could be which could cause legal issues. I understand the corporation trying to protect itself but punishment should be handed out on a case-by-case basis. If the woman comes out and says there was no coercion or power dynamic that influenced her decisions, a 1 year suspension is excessive. If she says otherwis,, sure. We need more facts though.

Some people don't respect policies that don't align with their values. Some people don't just mindlessly follow policies like sheep just cause. Sexual and intimate attraction cuts deeper than any workplace "issues" for many, it's literally in our nature.
