There are some fantastic home-school programs, forums, and communities for kids and teach-parents.
Definitely avoid the hard-Right, Evangelical homeschoolers (they'll be the majority of them), but the curriculums and methodologies are endless, and you really can put your kids incredibly ahead of curve.

I'm in North Carolina. but Yeah there are so many to choose from we have decided on anything or nailed down a concrete plan. but we still got plenty of time. We just want our kid to be well versed before we put him/her out into the public school system.

but its funny you say that about the evangelical sway on most these programs. we've def peeped that. especially with these groups who meet up with other homeschool kids.
