Right now battlfield is the ultimate shooter. Battlefield 4 is the GOAT. But give it some time and Hardline will become GOAT.

Socom was fukking classic. Desert glory and fishook awesome maps with headset that shyt was ahead of its time.

You would love hardline rescue mode and crosshair mode. it plays exactly like cs/socom

i can honestly say theres a point where the map is "too big" and i feel BF4 is like that

strangely i can say that KZ2 got that exactly right but thats not even close to a realistic shooter which ultimately made it play second fiddle for life to CoD

i think we're at a point that realistic shooters just dont make the money they used too and i saw that firsthand when they made Socom 4 which was a farce

I enjoy AW and while i like playing classic i hate the HUD and have always preferred hardcore since inception

now many will say hardcore makes the twitch pop out of door moments even that less forgiving it also makes you appreciate your surroundings due to not being spoonfed where your enemies are

its a trade off but within about a month of playing AW ive adjusted to the noob jumping tactics provided i know the spots they like, ive had to rely significantly more on hip fire because of this but its the only way
I just wish there was a middle ground!
Standard play, including huds and all.. But with hardcore health.

I hate unloading rounds into someone to have them not drop and their teammate kill me.

I really prefer BF4. The map size doesn't bother me at all.

im hearing mixed reviews on hardline

another thing i didnt even mention was the aim assist thats only gotten more drastic as the game has aged :skip: ive literally had my screen move 5-10 degrees just because some guy floated across the map jumping :mjcry:

so are you saying BF: Hardline has a hostage mode? :whoo:

A more refined Planetside 2 type game from DICE would be :wow:

Something like 1000 players per team :russ:

bruh my old roommate had BF4 and i watched harriers dive bomb snipers :skip: that kind of killed the game for me but it had its shining points for sure

EDIT just wanna say oine thing i dont like thus far why is this guy shooting what appears to be multiple football fields away with what looks like a standard assault rife :dead: thats kinda wacky

yall buggin with ths 500 players shyt :dahell:

64 players is perfect.

@shin

Hardcore mode is cool and I prefer it in COD. but there is major problems with it. the main problem is n COD aeveryone turns into a fukking camper on hardcore mode and its annoying as fukk. another problem is the removal of information. why cant i see the fukking score???

in battlefield hardline the game dont even really need hardcore mode cause even regular games feel hardcore. but major problems. the first thing is YOU STILL HAVE 100% HEALTH! There is no healthy difference so guns do the same damage which makes hardcore kind of pointless. Also the missing information in battlefield is too cruciaul. Why cant I see who is in my car? Why do they take out the list of squad members??? not knowing whos in your squad makes it hardcore??

i dont get why hardcore = removing crucial information

the way i see it is, knowing enemy locations should be "special" not necessarily given to you

as far as score you can hit start and see the score info, objective info and used to be the map which makes sense to me. Ill say this, if aim assist was OFF and submachine guns werent so accurate at medium distance the gun selection would change significantly

in SOCOM given that noone used IW-80s each gun had its quirks. I preferred the M16 and would tap like it was paintball to get that max firerate. Even still the biggest problem with the "TTK" thing people have made up lately is that CoD adjusts for most peoples crap accuracy. In SOCOM no such thing existed therefore you either had a steady hand or you were circling eachother letting off a clip. You knew someone was a butter bar just off the strength of that 100 round m60 they would be toting :laff: in MW1 that shyt was a modified sniper rifle :dead:

The whole BF franchise has taken a step back and become more and more COD like with each new game.

I think dude just wanted to get in on the action :russ: but that type of game with battles like that are needed, games like that being the lone wolf ain't gonna cut it.

No, 64 players is not perfect, it's only perfect to you because that's the standard for these weak ass consoles.

Games with bigger player counts can do more, you can't have battle for resources with just 64 dudes, which is why we're seeing the same game over and over again. So a Battlefield game with 300 players per side with huge sustained battles over resources would be wack to you :mjpls:

Ill say this @Malta if we gonna be really real about a battle of that size you almost need vehicles and air strikes etc and maybe even a roughshod war plan installed as the game launches for each team. The problem with that is that as the scale improves to keep that level of realism going you need the aspect of planning which i know for fact 90% of players arent gonna put time in for

could you imagine it was like SOCOM and the captains of the team(literal high rank players) only got to make decisions :wow: thats what was missing when i played BF4 it just seemed at times there was no rhyme or reason to anything

but im willing to give things a chance if i get that old feeling back

We'll see how Planetside 2 does on PS4, the core ideas of the game are good, the problem is the execution of gameplay, as in the gunplay and controls fukking suck :russ: A better developer with the same attempt could really take what they've done and make it a great game.

From what you're describing Arma 3 is probably the game for you, really steep learning curve but the community takes it seriously -

I also wanna say this, there are ways to eliminate campers but it just seems people get frustrated after the first attempt and they realize what they are dealing with

flash bangs, concussions, etc are specifically there for campers. And in the case of someone with a trophy system once you know, you can take em out because the one thing a "true" camper relies on is the element of surprise

so in essence the "camper" that folks complain about usually isnt in the same spot. Because if they were they would just get nuked everytime they went back to their gooch location. Most of the time a guy like that seemingly locks down an area is constantly moving between locations based on map spawns, and in nutshell i expose this. There are times where i know someone thinks im in a room and ill purposely reposition to watch if someone tries to raid a choice location and usually it pays off because people are impatient and would rather settle the score and be reactive vs a proactive approach and work with their team.

The one map i remember crushing people with this was the airport in MW2 :cheff:

when you play battlefield you have to play with a squad. so everyones working together for objective and communicating and calling it out shyt. if you buy hardline send me your psn and you can run with me we usually have a full party playing every night. no noobs everyone working together

Games like that wouldn't work on consoles unfortunately, everybody has to be a winner and shyt is made easy.

Almost everyone does play like that, lots of communication, and the weapons have all sorts of ballistics that the game tracks. I don't like mouse keyboard much either, feels like I'm doing a spreadsheet instead of playing a game :russ:

What I hate is how these games are turning into basically automatic weapon fest. What happened to a good balance of weapons, classes, etc. I swear its like all these FPS want you to do is just pick up the most OP AR that outclasses everything else are go on a rampage
