Kyrie played 60 Games total that year. Team obviously didn’t need him that year. Beat Giannis/Milwaukee and Embiid/Simmons Philly, took the Cavs to 7 Games, actually played better without him.

point taken but your ceiling is higher with Kyrie than without him...

People will eventually accept the truth about these little scoring guards. Kyrie is great, and when he is on he's very entertaining. However, he does not impact winning and losing like that. Puts on a great show and clutch as hell but for 48 minutes, night in and night out, with two ends of the floor to play, there is only so much impact he is gonna have. The Gold Standard of these types of players, Steph, only has so much impact. Wings move the needle in this game. When you see a small guard having team success it's either beside a dominant wing or a gang of quality wings. Just look at Kemba and Steph this year. Kemba went from toiling in mediocrity in Charlotte to the top of the east with those wings in Boston. Steph went from MVP being held back to getting ran off the floor on a nightly basis with his wings gone.

And that’s basically why you put up with his shyt. He can be that little extra mile in the playoffs, when he’s locked in. Hopefully they can figure out a way to be good as a team...while also having Ky out there

HE HASNT DONE shyt
IN THE PLAYOFFS WITHOUT BRON
SO THIS POST MAKES NO SENSE.

I remember the year after Rose won MVP, The Coli was saying the Bulls were just as good without Rose when they were like 18-9, but with Rose they were were 32-7. Now people are saying Boston and the Nets ARENT better without Kyrie, when their records say otherwise.

I wasn't including him. Not to mention that was nearly a decade ago when we were still in the middle of the transition from bigs to wings.

nikka WHAT?

WINGS TOOK OVER ON THE EARLY 2000S
AND WE'RE TALKING ABOUT 2011.

WHO WERE THE DOMINANT BIGS IN 2011?
D12 AND WHO ELSE?

How exactly did wings take over in 2005? It sounds like we are talking about different things here.

The Heat were the first team to go away from the traditional 4 and 5 set up and win a ring.

As the post I quoted implied, the young Boston team didn’t have the confidence or direction to win vs adversity, possibly due to lack of experience. They RELIED on Kyrie as a leader. Brooklyn has their own thing, direction, set of leaders, that lack of reliance should have him playing looser like in Cleveland (when he wasn’t as relied on).

I said adversity. They started 2-0 against the Bucks (a team with its own problems from playing behind) and lost every road matchup. Most everyone on Brooklyn last year crumbled when Philly punched em in the face other than Dudley and Caris. Spencer wasn’t great either. But more than anything, their primary scorer, DLo, disappeared. Kyrie should at least be the average version of himself, and they’re better suited to let him be that

THEY WERENT SUPPOSED TO BEAT ANY OF THOSE TEAMS WITHOUT KYRIE AND HAYWARD
AND THEY WERE A GAME AWAY FROM THE FINALS.:mjtf:

WE SAW WHAT HAPPENED LAST YR
WHEN IT WAS KYRIES TIME
TO LEAD A TEAM IN THE PLAYOFFS.

Derrick Rose was surrounded by some serious defense. Deng, Boozer, Brewer, Noah, Taj, Kurt. Even in the games Noah and boozer missed. Brewer was a huge piece and he played all games.

MVP Rose was great but there are 9 other PG's who've had better years than him since then and only 3 won MVPs.

Steph, Dame, I.T, Harden, Kemba, Kyrie, Trae, Westbrook and CP3 all would have won 60 games as well. It's a reason why the bulls won 48 games when Rose missed the entire year.
