Let him go...he don't wanna play here he don't wanna play here.

The Nets will suck for the next few years anwyays and then maybe we'll get some draft picks and some FA's and the team will be better for it.

It's in front of D-Wills house. If the Knicks w/ Coach Woodson, Melo, & Amare can take Jeremy Lin to one of the most expensive restaraunts in LA the other day courting him... I don't see why this is a problem.
:whoo:
courting who? Lin? He's already locked up breh! Early Bird Rights ftw :smugdraper:

NBA commissioner David Stern will appeal granting Bird rights to New York Knicks’ Jeremy Lin and Steve Novak - NYPOST.com

According to a league official, Stern’s plan to appeal the union’s victory in the Jeremy Lin/Steve Novak Bird rights war may carry over into the July 1 start of free agency. That would delay the Knicks’ ability to negotiate for any free agent and create a public-relations nightmare for Stern, whose office is in midtown.

Grantland has an article about that on their site now. It comes down to how Novak and Lin ended up in NYC. Both were waived by their former teams, in exchange for getting the players off of waivers the Knicks had to pay $1000. Knicks are arguing that this should count as a trade: based on the wording of the CBA, a team taking on the contract of another player via waivers *could* be viewed as a trade, which means the player's Bird rights are intact. NY is only fighting so hard for this because their waiver wire gambles paid off and they want to be able to use the mid level exception/remaining cap space to build up the roster instead of retaining these guys.

Even if the Knicks win this case we know that loophole will be sewn shut very soon.

Back onto OT... I would like to be as convinced as some of my fellow Mavs fans that D Will is coming home, but I don't want to get my hopes up. Just wanna know when he decides, and how that affects our pursuit if Eric Gordon/additional help.
