It’s going to be KAT. Just look at how they interact. It’s not personal, but from a game standpoint they freeze KAT out on offense, complain about his defense, and they are all have ties to Brunson.

The problem with KAT is I don’t know if they’ll get good value for him. This would be another team trading him in back-to-back off-seasons. They would probably have to take back a bad or questionable contract.

The only exception I could see is maybe the Suns would take him in a trade for KD given KD’s age, one year remaining on his contract and KAT’s relationship with Booker.

I disagrees. Kat is a Two time conference finals, and third team all nba. I think they can get a good haul. Especially since they aren’t going to be asking for a Pick haul.

The issue is they have roster holes they got to fix.

This is a great point. The book is out on KAT. Minny had to trade most of their draft capital for Gobert to cover for him defensively and now you see the Pacers hunting him relentlessly on defense in this series, necessitating them playing Mitch at the 5.

What team is trading for him? What team is giving anything of value for him? At best you're gonna get 65 cents on the dollar if you move him.

My point is they’ll have to trade a starter to bolster the bench.
Yea, I don’t agree. If you start Mitch, send Josh to the bench and bring back Delon Wright, you can find a cheap center to play 8 minutes a game if it’s not just Hukporti. You’d only need a solid combo wing/big for the tax exception.

That’s two straight games where our bench was the best part of this roster. Maximizing the offense should be the key next season in my opinion. If yall agree that Thibs isn’t capable of doing that then we should give someone else a crack at it.

KAT is a good player, but contenders would be weary of trading a key piece(s) for someone who is a big liability on defense and in key moments.

The Knicks were 5th in offensive rating and 14th in defensive rating. Too much talk about offense. The bench play the last two games is also being severely gassed. We lost games scoring 130 and 121 points. We need to have a top 10 defense if we plan on actually winning a championship.

That’s not a good enough bench, especially when it comes to scoring.

Exactly and he’s making $53 million next year. What contender is trading away key pieces for that contract?

Was listening to Bill Simmons podcast last night after the game, he had Zach Lowe on... apparently KAT is also extension eligible this offseason

He's gonna be making 60+M AAV soon

Spacing is gold in today's NBA.

You don't just trade away the best spacing big man in the league like that. You won't be able to replace what he provides because there's not a better player out there that a team will give up for him. Y'all have looked and performed at your best in this series with him anchoring the offense, so I don't know why y'all have come to a conclusion that getting rid of him somehow solves whatever problems you have.

I don’t want to see another coach.

We need more pieces the Pacers 6th leading scorer is a 50/40/90 guy and TJ McConnell is like their 9th man.

We dead ass have one guy who can dribble and break down a defense.
How many do the Pacers have?

I think the best way forward is just figuring out how to best stagger Brunson and Towns minutes on the court. You can hide one liability defensively on the court. It's really difficult to hide two at the same time.

Run it back. No blow up. Keep Thibs.

Pad the bench in offseason.
The Knicks don't have the cap space to pad the bench unless they trade a player or 2.

Also, Thibs should 100% be fired. It's crazy that you've seen Thibs' madness in this postseason and yet still want him to return.

Nah bro, KAT getting traded this summer.

Thibs is flawed as fukk and I wouldn’t be mad if they fired him too, but Thibs ain’t the issue with the defense.

The whole season the defense struggled, the offense struggled, and the lineup never meshed. In the playoffs they got over most those issues with more effort but he defensive issue is real. Other teams saw that series and know that if they do drop coverage they can attack KAT and if the Knicks switch start hunting for KAT or Brunson.

Unless it’s KD, you’re not trading KAT this off season after this series.
