You think running it back with the same principles is going to bring any other result?

Brunson can still play relatively the same minutes, but breaking up the time in which he and KAT share the court is going to be beneficial to everyone. The ball moves more and that feeds into the synergy at the other end when Brunson isn't on the floor. Having KAT, Brunson, Mikal and OG on the floor at the same time for the majority of the game doesn't bring out the best versions of themselves. That doesn't mean that lineup should be abandoned, altogether, but staggering them, allowing each player to touch the ball and work themselves into the game is a better strategy.

It'll also help defensively because they can surround them with more defensive-minded pieces.

Trading KAT or Brunson is the "insane solution". You won't get players better than them, because they're not on offer. You have to make it work with them. Y'all won't get a better core than you have now, so it's all about maximizing them and surrounding them with the appropriate pieces.

Dude the franchise player isn’t coming off the bench. It’s an absurd proposition and completely disrespectful to Brunson. You can stagger them differently and at the end of the day they’re going to share the floor when it’s winning time.

OG had a career year as well not much more you can do to get him going.

The Knicks were 5th in offensive rating and 14th in defensive rating. Too much talk about offense. The bench play the last two games is also being severely gassed. We lost games scoring 130 and 121 points. We need to have a top 10 defense if we plan on actually winning a championship.

And in the playoffs? Our defensive rating is the same, and our offensive rating dropped 5 points.

You’ll just hire another retread like Mike Malone and get more or less the same results. As the season goes on there will be a new set of complaints many which will actually be the same complaints. We’ll be paying two coaches for no reason.

You don't know that it won't "solve anything". Also, there are coaches you can hire outside of Mike Malone.

Some might say this season is success because we made da conference finals for the first time in 20 but i disagree.

We had a golden opportunity to atleast make it to the finals against a team that barely beat us last year when we were hurt and we blew it.
They aint even better than us, they are just hungrier and execute better.

Whole different series if we win game 1. Last chance for these guys to show they have what it takes.

Win game 5 and then let's see what happens game 6. We've won on the road all playoffs. I'm not giving up on them yet.

I really thought Thibs was a changed man after game 3. How D-Wright get one minute in the second half and Hart with 6 turnovers get 37?

Nope, it’s exactly why I had zero confidence in us winning the series after we were down 0-2. Thibs lack of adjustments.

It’s insane that some of you guys still think that the roster isn’t a major problem

We got 3 and D wings who can’t even hit 3s or consistently play elite defense

We got point guards who can barely run an offense or pass the ball

Players who can’t even dribble or create their own shot

Centers that can’t play defense

And a coach who can’t get his head out of his ass

This team has the talent. They had the 5th best record in the league this season. We're not garbage, but change has to be made.

Gonna be hard to get to this spot again. HCA in the ECF, OG healthy, Mitch healthy… Knicks needed to capitalize and they completely bottled G1 and ruined the season

Yeah, it’s the playoffs. Other teams had even steeper drops. Even teams that were better than us offensively in the RS.

In the playoffs you need to defend at a top 10 level, really closer to top 5, to win a title generally.

You don’t got to get a player better than KAT. KAT might be the second best player in this series behind Haliburton and the Knicks starting 5 is better than the pacers and it didnt work. They got to trade KAT for a couple of legit NBA players who Thibs will play.

Thibs outcoached Bickerstaff and Mazzula.

The team won 51 games (with players like Brunson and especially Robinson missing lots of times, ranked 5th in offensive rating despite the constant critiques, made the ECF (which is not over yet for the first time in 25 seasons), Thibs ranked highly in the season amongst coaches in shyt like challenge success, the roster is severely flawed/underdeveloped, he also has established a culture and has the unwavering support of the players.

So no he shouldn’t be “100% fired”. He squeezed every last win out of this roster and has taken us to heights not seen in many Knicks fans lifetimes. We weren’t supposed to get past R2.
