I can see that angle. But I just think they are fun to think about and a lot of them have turned out to be true..

But the idea that we are living in a simulation is a new one to me...and fascinating.

The belief of operating at a vibrational level comes from a spiritual concept that says that all things are made of a spiritual matter that is accelerated or slowed down by how fast or slow it vibrates. This matter at its core is light, this light (also known as love) is sped up in higher spiritual dimensions and slowed down in lower spiritual dimensions. It is of belief that the more one aligns himself with higher spiritual values (light/love) the faster he or she vibrates. This includes the belief that there are higher spiritual dimensions that arent as dense as the physical dimension in which we live. The denseness of this physical dimension is at the same time a denseness of spiritual value. In other words, higher dimensions are closer to the source (God), and as the light from the source gets further from the source, the more base and dense it becomes. So the concept has a dual nature, as it speaks of both outer and inner reality.

Again, vibration means frequency, which relates to speed, which also relates to operating toward the foundational and pure spiritual value of existence.

This concept is further elaborated through the belief that one is able to perform spiritual feats by operating at a higher spiritual frequency. Thus, when people speak about being able to have out of body experiences or any other such experience, they are operating at a frequency unlike our dense reality.

Thus, people are said to have lower or higher vibes, related to what feeds that person's inner life. It is believed demons, bad spirits, and any other malevolent force is operating at a very low vibration (again, related to spiritual dimension), as it is they are further from pure spiritual light reflected in love, which itself is reflected in goodness. That level of vibration you can feel, as it is animalistic in nature, even subhuman.

I have only seen this point in reference to particle behavior at a quantum level (extremely small particles). There were physicists who observed that electrons were behaving like waves (passing through solid objects) when observed and like particles when not. The explanation I got in my physics class was that there detector they were using to observe the electrons energized them in a way that changed their behavior and so it wasn't "observation" or "perception" that impacts anything. The media simply ran with it.

I'll also add to my above post that this is what Buddhists and Qabalists are essentially attempting to do: rejoining the one true source by raising their vibrational frequency, in order to surpass all dimensions that descend below oneness. They mostly do this through meditation, awareness, and general spiritual practice. In Kabbalah the journey is reflected in the tree of life.
