This Is What Negativity Does To Your Immune System, And It's Not Pretty
How can negativity literally have a real impact on someone’s reality?
In western society we like to compartmentalize components of life and existence, and relate to these components as being separate. Body-mind-heart-soul-spirit: separate components. They're even separated by words. They are not separate, but are one, that operate simultaneously on several realms at once, but also in unison. And so the force of the conscious mind--thoughts, emotion, consciousness--has influence over the body and can be reflected in certain abnormalities. Some teach that behind every physical malady lies a spiritual malady, and that the former reflects the later. If these are connected, then that means thought and emotion have just as much existential force within the human body as physical counterparts. This is because there is a tangible relationship between the comscious mind and physical body. Allowing negative thoughts and emotions dominion over the conscious mind then stresses the physical body, and this stress translates to chemicals and other functions within the body to be affected. The simplest example I can come up with is an angry person having a heart attack. Extremely simple but reflects this concept.
I am of the belief that these things are connected because they are in fact one: that the body doesnt encompass the mind, nor does the mind encompass the body, but that there is something even higher that encompasses both. That in fact the mind, body, soul and even spirit are just vessels for something else entirely. And in fact you can find this belief even in christianity/judaism, where the belief is God blew his breath into a Vessel (humanity) to express its will as separate from himself.
I believe that our understanding of the words we use for the functions of life are incorrect and misleading. What we think of as the mind, isn't true mind, but a lower function of a higher "mind", and this higher mind encompasses the mind body and soul. Jung said that we have an unconscious that rules the mind, in which the true self resides. But I think what's important to understand is that all of these things arent centered within the head or centered within human awareness and thus operates independent of any human will. I dont believe I am a body and a mind. I believe that my mind and body are within another vessel that functions independent of any physical senses willpower or awareness.
