It's always about money. The show has Lil Rel, Tiffany Haddish and Jerrod, getting paid peanuts compared to others. That side of the table was waiting for those old contracts to expire so they can cash out on what their real value is. They will all be alright. Netflix and all types of networks are on their phone lines right now.

From what I read contract negotiations with NBC went south and they didn't seem like they were gonna renew so feelers were put out to see if the show could be moved then Jerrod walked away. He probably didn't wanna go through all that BS like the cast of Girl Meets World did when the creators tried to save that show by shopping it around.
