You’re focusing on Knoll. What about Cowher? He didn’t win until his 14th season. He had success early getting to the Super Bowl in year 4, but it would be another ten years before he got back. In that 10 years, he missed the playoffs 4 times including a 3 year drought. Belichick was let go after 2 seasons of missing the playoffs when he never had gone 2 consecutive seasons missing the playoffs his entire time there.
I focused on Knoll because he and Tomlin are incomparable.

Cowher's tenure features 4 consecutive AFCCG games (including the Super Bowl appearance), and 3 others topped off the with the ring. Only 1 Wild Card exit.

Tomlin has 1 AFCCG appearance outside of the 2 major runs with the team Cowher built and 3 playoff wins in 13 seasons. He routinely exits in the Wild Card.

Cowher never went to 4 consecutive AFC title games. He did however miss the playoffs three consecutive seasons. He did have three losing seasons.

What’s this crap about Cowher building the team? They have GMs for a reason, and he didn’t even want them to draft Big Ben. Tomlin took over a team that went 8-8 and missed the playoffs.

My mistake, he went to 3 in 4 seasons. Tomlin also has 2 B2B spells of no playoffs. Losing seasons are a natural part of a franchise's ebbs and flows and are offset by reaching higher stages of the playoffs.

There is no crap. You think the Rooneys hired GMs to build teams with no input/from their head coaches? Who did they end up drafting? The biggest 8-12 contributors on the 08 and 10 PIT teams were also on Cowher's rosters.

"No losing seasons" isn't impressive when you're constructing the teams you want with picking garbage at QB post-Ben and arachaic offenses.

I do agree Parcells had a lot of those great defensive players that were the backbone of this first 3 rings (besides Harrison in the final 2 of those 3 and Vrabel) I do think that the D was more responsible than Brady was at that time.

Where would you rank Joe Gibbs? 3 SB wins with 3 different QBs and even came back after a 12 year absence and made the playoffs 2 out of 4 years

So why is one considered to be some defensive juggernaut that "carried" the offense, while the other generally isnt?

The eagles fired the HC who won their first SB, got a new guy then won another Super Bowl with him :mjlol:

But but continuity :russ:
They also have multiple game changing players on both sides of the ball and a quarterback while Pittsburgh lacks those same things. It’s been roughly a decade now since Tomlin got to coach a quarterback who wasn’t :flabbynsick:

Let’s just hope this will stop the Jalen hate because he here. Folk worried about these other guys but he’s been to two super Bowls and won one. Put that man up there
