Not going to address the LeBron-Melo team-up because of my next point. The problem with PHX is that they're going to have a make a decision on whether to pay damn near all of those guys in the next two years. I know ppl shyt on the Morris twins, but they were integral pieces on that roster this past year. Also, we know Robert Sarver is going to do everything he can to save some money.

Going to the Sarver being cheap point that someone mentioned before (and tying this with the two years point I bolded); some of these players would be eligible for Birds' Rights and if Sarver REALLY wanted to keep a few or all of them, he could go over the cap and pay luxury tax. But we all know that's a tough issue with a lot of owners, not just him.

at the thought of the Eastern conf. with out the Heatles...would be NCAA mid major status.

Silver would have to restructure the whole league

Now that Frye has opted out, they currently have a payroll of just $29M. Eric Bledsoe has a cap hold of just $6.5M so essentially they have their entire 48-win team from last year (minus Frye) plus about $31M in cap room! They also have three 1st round picks (#14, #18, #27).

What if they added Lebron and Kevin Love, while retaining Bledsoe? It's doable. They could trade Marcus Morris and Archie Goodwin plus their 1st round picks to Minny for Love. They could sign Lebron outright. Then re-sign Bledsoe. Their team next year would be:

PG Dragic/Ish Smith
SG Bledsoe/Green
SF Lebron/Tucker
PF Love/Markieff Morris
C Plumlee/Len

That's ridiculous.

Oh, I agree 100% that a lot of the owners in the NBA are cheap. When the CBA changed how much owners pay on the luxury tax, it's crazy that some owners didn't go out on a limb before to add the players that may have helped them contend for a title.

I'm a die hard Suns fan and wouldn't hype myself up too much about this. I already know what it is:sadbron:

Would love to see the Suns get back into serious contention out west, they are def one of the first couple teams I think of when I think NBA.

I don't see why that owner won't open up that check book. Lebron won't come out West but I don't see why they wouldn't make a serious push for Melo. They are legit a team ready made to contend with a superstar, young players who can ball hard and a great legit head coach.

If they had a Melo to go to at the end of the game they would be a problem:whew:

Sarver was paying the luxury tax when Nash, Amare, etc. was on the team when they were a top team in the west. The trading of draft picks was mostly due to D'Antoni being coach/gm during his tenure. Although when Kerr was the gm Sarver was trying to micromanage stuff which caused Kerr to quit. Kerr did do some dumb stuff like hiring Terry Porter as the coach. So far Sarver has allowed McDonough and Babby to work without any interference and Sarver has stated he will pay the luxury tax again if the team is competing in the playoffs.

As a Suns fan I will admit Sarver's micromanaging severely hurt the team and I think he has learned to stay back. It also helps that McDonough has the team in a good spot with good flexibility to make any necessary changes to compete.

"Yeah I think we will spend it," said the man with the money, Managing Parter Robert Sarver told John Gambodoro on Thursday. "Hopefully we will spend a lot more than that."
