Am I wrong? You know how many times i seen this nikka typer perry wearing that ridiculous madea dress and shyt and black folk eat it up, the shyt was funny years ago but this character is just an embarrassment. And what I meant by Diversify is he could hire better writers to write different films without it being formulaic. If your gonna have a film studio diversity in your stories should be key... but hey im just a regular guy what do I know, right?

Nollywood is raking in billions selling Black movies to Africans in Africa and around the world. I think African Americans can do the same thing to be quite honest but too many are trying to gain acceptance and funding from the Hollywood crowd.

I've seen quite a few Nigerian films that couldn't possibly have had a budget of more than $1000 and they still make it work.

Nah homie, he is an Oprah/black op-tation dikkrider so he gets offended when people point out the obvious fact that she is a proud capitalist that does not use her money to improve the impoverished black community. let's just stick to the thread topic because he will derail it with Oprah cappin

:childplease: my man was homeless at one point.
so?

At a certain point he has to be held accountable for the work he does.

TP ain't even a TOP black producer unless we're talking income. By all other metrics, which are largely subjective, he has the worst catalog of any of his contemporaries.

Look at the other films being produced compared to what TP puts out.

OK. I'll give him one or two...but this dude is years into the game putting out trash.

Just "being in the game" ain't enough.

Quality and content matters and TP lacks both.

OK.

So stand over there and buy your TP tickets. We'll just be over here respecting actual quality in the things we invest in.

Being a black movie aint enough to cut it.

It's so incredibly difficult, there are only really like 6 or 7 media companies right now from what I know.

We need to follow the Korean model. They've been putting together fantastic projects for years, and they don't have giant budgets, just good stories and talented people to tell them. My favorite film movement right now.

You know the cac's and Jews won't allow this to happen.. They know wat we could do if we had our own real media company

Blacks are trying to break through in hollywood, but because of our small population, stereotypical representations in film, and our small buying power both in the political economy and box office, racial capitalist oppression continues to block our full access to the system to tell our stories the way we want them to be told; in other words, this chart details how and why black autonomy is blocked in film
Well, it is a business after all...:manny:

I hate on Tyler Perry because he doesnt Diversify... and the madea shyt is played out. Oprah is another thing... Personally, she could do more.
At least you admit you a hater but your reason still stupid. You don't like his movement cool but hate him for lack of diversity is stupid. That means you have a chance to do something that isn't being covered or look for other directors that do what you like but hate nah that's not cool
