The messaging is, indeed, problematic. On multiple levels. An even worse issue is individualism during a pandemic. It takes an entire population working together to get them under control and the American population is anything but coordinated towards a common goal in the face of extreme adversity.​

I saw the chart. It showed the absolute number of cases whether vaccinated or unvaccinated (there was no distinction made). There are tons of unvaccinated people who have not caught COVID.

When people talk about death rates with regards to COVID they're talking about case fatality rates. Going further, if you compare similar case peaks before and after the vaccine was available you'll notice that the presence of immunized people has lowered the case fatality rates.
