i think it may be due to the increasing amount of chemicals americans consume in their food and in the products we use

to me it seems people are shorter and fatter

People are getting taller because access to better nutrition and prenatal care

People are getting fatter because there is corn/sugar/salt in damn near everything that's cheap/"tasty"
