Exactly why it sucks. There’s nothing at stake win or lose, and the whole reason Cena wants the match is because he isn’t on the card? What kind of retarded ass booking is this? For starters, there should never be a match with nothing at stake in it. That makes the contest inherently worthless from the start. Secondly, given that he’s one of their biggest stars, you’d think someone would want to book him as opposed to not caring or that you could write it as whoever he faces takes offense to him not being bothered to challenge a younger full time wrestler to a match. Last, and just as important, why should taker care for this match? By 2011 and 2012, the entire reason he’d been coming back was to defend his streak and he wouldn’t show up at all from April through December. Ever since the streak ended, there’s been no real reason for him to be at the show at all. We haven’t seen him on tv in a year now. It’s not like he’s a full time guy working an undercard feud. Character wise there’s no reason to be invested in this match at all. Much credit to @stro for pointing out a few of these reasons in another thread.
