I'm ten minutes behind on the RevPro stream, but Mercedes is wrestling Safire Reed at the moment and it's pretty good. I assume Mercedes wins, but they've made Safire at least feel like a wildcard threat with the promo. I hope she gets some traction off this.
I can't think of another wrestler who went from the main event of Wrestlemania to wrestling a 20 year old prospect that nobody has ever heard of in a place nobody has ever heard of for about 500 people and it's not in any way a bad thing.
Mercedes could take praise for the rest of her career like Charlotte for bringing the "Revolution" to WWE and never raise another woman up again. But that's ALL she wants to do. Industry be damned, she just fukking LOVES THIS shyt.
Mone Trees is the perfect place for shade and that's just how I feel.

Yeah, she won, but they ran a great angle at the end. Safire had asked her crew, The Cut-Throat Collective to go to the back for the match. After she wins, Mercedes raises Safire's hand for the respect spot, Safire's crew come out and jump Mercedes with Safire looking horrified.
Kanji out for the save and they put the submissions on the Collective.

They sold Kanji coming out as a mark of her respect for Mercedes... if it was a regular TV company I would've said they were building to a tag match, but that really would be Mercedes getting into the weeds.
A Kanji rematch could be fire, especially if that's who she eventually drops to. Kanji has been a workhorse in British wrestling for years and she's still young enough to do bigger things so it'd be a huge moment for her.
RevPro's biggest event of the year is over Forbidden Door weekend - they're doing a 2 day event, but don't think they've released any/much card yet.
