This week's episode wasn't too bad all things considered. Dare I say a bit boring. It does beg a couple of questions though:

-What do the majority of these characters do for a living? Outside of Emmett and Dre, I don't understand what these folks do to keep a roof over their heads. If anything, Suede definitely losing money by being booed up. Does Douda still own that line of pizzerias?

-Why was Kevin walking around wearing a jean jacket complaining about the cold? I'm not from Chi-Town but I hear those winters are brutal.

-When did The Preacher's Wife become must-see TV for little kids? Those lil jits were geeked.

-When did Poppa start smoking weed? I'm pretty sure he was always on his soap box when Kev and Jake were vaping while playing video games in Kev's room.

-Why is Trig letting Douda dictate shyt to him? Wasn't the video of Douda beating Jemma's dad supposed to be the ultimate trump card?

I see now that is off the show they introduced CJ McCollum as the latest teacher. Not sure if it was the heels but Emmett's momma's ass was looking crazy in last scene with Suede.

Everything about this show is messy as hell

I think Douda acknowledged the replacement mayor during his TV interview when he alluded to needing therapy. Great point. Not only is Dom Tiffany and Emmett's business partner (and cook), Darnell was smashing as well. She just disappeared like a ghost. My wife mentioned this when we were watching and I'm telling her not to jinx shyt because I didn't want to be subjected to Lala's bad acting. I reverse jinxed myself though because I did the same with Kandi and lo and behold she's in the next episode

On ep. 2 late cuz I was away

Jason Weaver might as well be credited as "himself." He was a piece of shyt last season but at least it was a change. It's like Lena's tryna make every character just decent enough to be aired on BET one day. This is a BET+ show now. Move it there like they did with Twenties.

Jake is low key very welcoming to people he ain't necessarily supposed to be fukkin with. Reg tried to protect him from his moms for years. Now she comes back and it's like "" At least he argued with Trig first before he let Trig take care of him.

Kevin might finally win. This is what I'm reduced to with this show: watching Kevin like he's Bubbles or some shyt

Emmitt's moms gotta do that young kid a favor and let him go. He doesn't need this.

I feel like the storylines stopped being aggressively tragic once Brandon died. First 2 seasons had a lot of grief. Other than Ronnie getting murked (which was necessary) it's more posturing and pandering. Even Douda was evil when he was introduced. Now he's just an a$$hole. They got rid of all the gang shyt when Reg got murked.


At this point, I'm trying to figure out how Lena will tie up all these loose ends. It feels like all these storylines are too far away from ending, which is bad news for everyone here who wants this show cancelled.

EDIT: Poppa is dangerously close to becoming Ronnie level irritating

Tracy was a real c*nt the first couple of seasons. Even the political angle felt more authentic with Jerrika conflicted over working for the alderwoman due to housing issues.
