I love dark fantasy kind of stuff so I was actually excited to check it out. I liked it. Has the potential to be a great show, but definitely needs some tweaking.

The show has a great atmosphere. I loved the cinematography, set designs, make-up, and practical effects. And the entire magical cast is fantastic.

But

The nonmagical characters are wildly uninteresting. Like, I never gave a fukk this entire season about her trans friend, her blind friend, or her bland boyfriend. And since the episodes are so long, we end up spending more time with them than is necessary.

And I don't know if it's the writing or the acting, but Sabrina comes across as flat as well. Blackwood, Madame Satan, and Prudence were allowed to be a little over the top and it worked. But Sabrina had no presence at all whenever she shared a scene with them.

So shorten the episodes, add more dark humor, give less screentime to her non-magical friends, and give Sabrina (and Salem ) more personality for next season and you have a hit


Side note: is just me or does Ambrose look/act just like a young Chiwetel Ejiofor?

Finished it the other day. The girl who plays Sabrina is awfully miscast, the chick who plays Betty on Riverdale plays a better Sabrina on there than this broad. She looks/sounds sarcastic in every scene
