The album that changed hip hop production
I hadn't converted over to CDs yet, but man, when I copped that cassette:whew:

My folks ain't even have an issue with me bumpin that tape with my bedroom window open:wow:

One of those albums where your favorite song on the album was a different one every other day.

Finally start buying CDs in 1995, and I can easily remember my 1st 5 CDs in the order i got them.

1. Eightball & MJG On Top of the World(my sister got me this for Christmas

2. The Chronic
3. Dogg Food(my favorite Death Row album)
4. Spice 1 Amerikkka's Nightmare
5. Phat Rap Flava '95:mjlol:(a dope compilation I bought from a department store with some dope east coast tracks on it)

peace to one of the greatest albums of all time

- one of the best b-sides of all time

Rage :whew: and Kurupt :damn: bodied this shyt

man the skill level of these female rappers have gone downhill

Rage

Always and forever, forever and always
The rhythm will flow from now and through all days
As long as the sun shine
As long as Eisenhower's on the dime
Yo, I'll be kickin' the rhyme
One time for your mind, your soul, your body
The OG's on the side of me
Smooth as E&J, hard as Bacardi
Smackin' those yaddy-yackin' ducks that keep quackin'
Hens that are cacklin' end up cracklin'
Under the heat, the pressure from the one that's deffer
Egyptian ruler, call me Cleo or Nefertiti, yes indeedy
Got the eyes that are beady, body from Tahiti
Voice of the wind, lyrics blowwww
Chills up your spine I send, so
All thoughts in ya mind — drop 'em, yo!
You came in the front, but you'll be kicked through the back door
If you try to step, try to come incorrect
Try to play the left, try to start a mess
Try to cause fuss, try to raise a ruckus
Huh! You'll end up ashes to ashes, dust to dust
A busta, you musta been buggin' on drugs and alcohol
Back off, all of y'all, up against the wall, spread 'em!
Doggs — go get 'em!
Hand-cuff 'em and stuff 'em, cold shut 'em, don't let 'em
Utter a word, not to mother or herd
If you try, you die, vision blurred, speech slurred
Served with a cherry on top
Rage in effect, I've just begun to rock
Yeaaaah! Rock on witcha bad self (Rage!)
Rock on witcha bad self (Rage!)
Rock on witcha bad self (Rage!)
Rock on witcha bad self

random ass shaking female rapper with no voice, delivery, or bars

You thought I was feelin' you? (Nah)
That nikka a munch
nikka a eater, he ate it for lunch
:unimpressed:

Yea you can tell he prefers 2001 over it

2001 is definitely better.

At the time I was a rappity rap fanatic and the bars on the Chronic just annoyed me. Like dudes was just freestyling damn near.

Over the years I have accepted it's classic status and of course I've learned to groove to it when it comes on in public.

Overall a great album.. but nothing was said on there that moved the needle lyrically.
