80% of the CIA work within the US. statistically speaking, we have a few CIA people in here.

you would have to an imbecile to betray your country for the cia when the american people have shown the world that they are willing to elect people every 2 years that will betray you at a moment's notice. you are expendable. it can't be worse to just keep your head down in your own country. people without means aren't useful spies so that means you must have something going for you at home.

China works under an assume that everyone is watching you and reporting back system. Just like old school Russia.

And unless you can get all your family out, the risk would be too great.

Even when you're out of the country, someone is watching, or the impression is given that they are, it's very effective and terrifying.

It's why US assets are probably easily plucked out and made to go on wild goose chases.

If US officials think this will work, they are even dumber than we thought.

The only people you could probably recruit are not Han Chinese. Or non mainlanders but they wouldn’t have the required intel and wouldn’t be able to integrate without getting snuffed.

This is a PsyOp.

Its like if Verizon walked into ATTs corporate office and said to everyone "Hey we're hiring, good pay and nice working hours"
Those Verizon managers are going to start looking really hard at who seemed receptive even in the slightest.
Purges might start and that weakens the effectiveness of the goverment while building animosity with citizens.
